George-Cukor-generosity-story
"I call it my favourite George Cukor-story. The story is that when he was shooting a film at MGM, which he did many - I don't remember which story, but he… the call-sheet was up as it always is with the names of who was shooting that day, and an executive - one of the executives, again I don't know the name, but one of the executives - went and looked at the call-sheet. He went down the list of names and he saw a name that he didn't recognize. So he dashed over to the set and he said to George: 'What is this, this name: What part is he playing?' And George said: 'He's playing the part of a friend of mine who needs a job.'" (Fay Kanin: On Cukor)
